Steinway Square Piano Front View

Steinway Square Piano Front View

As the German political state deteriorated with the Revolution of 1848, Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg immigrated from Braunschweig to New York City in hope of a better life. He and his four sons worked for various piano manufacturers until they could establish their own business. Steinweg anglicized his name to Henry E. Steinway, and in 1853, Steinway & Sons was born. This beautiful square Steinway was manufactured in 1878 with Brazilian Rosewood. It has a serial number of 40813. All of the original ivory is intact and in great condition. To polish this piece we used a dab of New Life Cream Polish.
